Pathway Week 7: Catalysts
Conceptual
Out of the five words that we could base our project on I chose 'Conceptual' because I felt it would prove to be the most challenging. There was also a lack of people who chose that word in the class so I wanted to set myself aside from everyone else and prevent myself from being inspired by their ideas.
My initial idea was to create a home that was funcitonal, affordable and that fit a need. The need was rough rough sleepers, e.g homeless people. Although it was probably something that has been tackled countless times already I wanted to give it a shot myself, and, seeing as my project was all about being conceptual I could push far beyond it being a realistic expectation.

I began by looking into homes that were small and functional, ones that had everything someone could need in a small space.
Prefab homes of the post-world war 2 era.
Looking into prefabs was certainly very eye opening. before this project I was unaware of this building technique.
An example of a prefab home in the modern world would be these apartments in Lewisham, local to me. They are intended to house the homeless temporarily which fits right into my idea.
